Business procedure
Requests for photographs should be made by phone, fax
or email. A choice of low resolution images will be emailed out the same day a request is made if at all possible. Once an image (or images) are selected high resolution jpegs on a CD can be sent by post or, if it is not too many, by email. Many images are also available as 35 transparencies if the client prefers to do their own scans. Delivery is by Royal Mail special
delivery.
Once
it is clear which images will be used the client should
phone to discuss fees. Fees vary according to the type of publication, distribution
and the proposed size and position of the picture in the
publication.
Commissions: Any standard photographic
commission will be undertaken, provided the subject matter
is associated with primary food production in some manner. Commissions are charged by the day, plus expenses.
Sea Spring Photos also offers a unique
service to customers seeking something special for their
images. The facilities at Sea Spring Photos, combined
with the growing experience of the Michaud’s,
means that the library can provide an unrivalled environment
for specialised long-term commissions that involve some
form of growing. For instance, it is an ideal setting for
projects that require an individual vegetable or variety
to be grown and photographed at specified stages. Likewise,
an exercise aimed at illustrating a particular gardening
techniques or a step-by-step gardening sequence can easily
be implemented at Sea Spring Farm. Clients interested in
initiating long-term growing commissions should contact Sea
Spring Photos early on in the season.
